Our Privacy Policy
AmmoGuide.com believes you have a right to your privacy. AmmoGuide.com has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web site.

Our site's registration form requires users to give us valid and accurate contact information (your name and email address). It also provides the ability to opt-in or opt-out of our newsletter and other bulk emails. Upon registration, an "activation" email is sent to the email address you provided. You must click on the URL in that email before your account is active (i.e., supports logins, will be sent emails, etc.)

Once activated, a user may login to their account profile and opt-in or opt-out of our bulk emails at anytime. Instructions and a link to the profile are provided in every bulk email we distribute.

The user's email address is also used to contact the user when necessary for administrative purposes (subscription renewal notices, receipts, etc.) Contact information is not shared with third parties, except to bona-fide law enforcement agencies to facilitate the investigation of fraud or other illegal activity.

If you incur fees through the use of this site we use your contact and financial information for billing purposes over secure links.

When you post on the AmmoGuide Interactive forum, or send a Personal Message via the AGI Personal messaging System, only your username (that which you use to login) is made visible to other website subscribers. Your name and email information is never disclosed. The only situation that it could be disclosed is if you manually enter it into a forum or personal message, which AmmoGuide.com staff will, in most cases, remove.

We do not do unsolicited mailings for third parties. Email messages are generated by AmmoGuide.com for these reasons:

  1. Notifications that you allow, such as the posting of new forum messages or the reception of bulk emails (newsletters, etc.).

  2. As a direct result of the user's actions (such as requesting the account password be emailed to the email address on file),

  3. As necessary to inform you of issues regarding your account as well as changes and enhancements to the website, be they esthetic, functional or administrative in nature. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.
We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to gather broad demographic information, and to track usage patterns in the AmmoGuide.com site.

This site contains links to other sites. AmmoGuide.com is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

Public Forums
This site makes a forum, or message board available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose any personal information. (AmmoGuide.com staff or software will not disclose your personal information.) We strongly recommend that you do not post your email address or other personal information in our forums because this information is publicly available for anyone to see and unscrupulous third parties may use this information to form 'spam' lists or may otherwise misuse this information.

This site has substantial security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of our intellectual property. Our database is operated under strong security procedures to prevent access by unauthorized persons. All financial transactions are encrypted at the highest level possible, and our credit card processing and data storage techniques meet or exceed the requirements of American Express, Discover, VISA, and MasterCard.

Choice / Opt-out
This site sends three types of email communications:

  1. Administrative messages related to account activity or changes - Messages related to account activity are generated as a result of status changes regarding your account. These notices are normally sent on an infrequent basis and can include renewal notifications, security notices, change in the policies and/or operation of our site and other notifications related to your account. You cannot opt out of receiving notifications related to account activity. If you fail to renew your subscription, no renewal messages will be directed to the email address associated with that account.

  2. Notifications of new features and enhancements - Notifications of new features and enhancements are sent as they become available for the set of services you are configured to receive. You may opt out of these notifications by deselecting the 'Notify me of AmmoGuide news' checkbox in your account profile. Additionally, a link to login directly to your profile is included in every bulk email we send out.

  3. As a direct result of the user's actions - Messages sent as a direct result of the user's actions (i.e., requesting a forgotten password via email) are always sent regardless of the customer's profile settings.
You can access your account profile settings at any time from the 'Personal' menu, 'myAmmoGuide' screen, by clicking 'Edit myAmmoGuide profile' link.
