Our Privacy Policy
AmmoGuide.com believes you have a right to your privacy. AmmoGuide.com has
created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment
to your privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and
dissemination practices for this Web site.
General
Our site's registration form requires users to give us valid and
accurate contact information (like your name and email address).
The customer's contact information is used to contact the customer
when necessary. Contact information is not shared with third
parties, except in special cases as outlined below.
When you post on the AmmoGuide Interactive forum, or send a Personal
Message via the AGI Personal messaging System, only your username
(that which you use to login) is made visible to other website subscribers.
Your name and email information is never disclosed. The only situation
that it could be disclosed is if it is manually entered into
a forum or personal message, which AmmoGuide.com staff will not do.
To facilitate the investigation of fraud or illegal activity we may turn
information over to bona-fide law enforcement agencies.
If you incur fees through the use of this site we use your contact
information and financial information for billing purposes. If collection
must be pursued, your contact and financial information may be shared
with collection agents and/or credit reporting agencies. Other than to
collect debts we do not share your financial information with any third
party.
We do not do unsolicited mailings for third parties. Email messages are
generated by AmmoGuide.com for one of three reasons:
- Upon site initial launch to inform waiting cutomers of the availability of the site.
- As a direct result of the user's actions (such as
requesting the account password be emailed to the email address on file),
- As necessary to inform you of issues regarding your account as well as
changes and enhancements to the website,
be they esthetic, functional or administrative in nature.
Users may opt-out of receiving
future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.
We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server,
and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to gather
broad demographic information, and to track usage patterns in the
AmmoGuide.com site. AmmoGuide.com does not use cookies.
This site contains links to other sites. AmmoGuide.com is not
responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.
Banner Advertising
AmmoGuide.com does not currently serve advertising banners, but
may consider doing so in the future.
Public Forums
This site makes a forum, or message board available to its users.
Please remember that any information
that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information (available to
demo account visitors) and you
should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.
(AmmoGuide.com will not disclose your personal information.)
We strongly recommend that you do not post your email address or other
personal information in our forums because this information is publicly
available for anyone to see and unscrupulous third parties may
use this information to form 'spam' lists or may otherwise misuse
this information.
Security
This site has substantial security measures in place to protect
the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our
control. Our database is operated under strong security procedures
to prevent access by unauthorized persons. All financial
transactions are encrypted at the highest level possible, and our
credit card processing and data storage techniques meet or exceed
the requirements of American Express, Discover, VISA, and MasterCard.
Choice / Opt-out
This site sends three types of email communications:
- Administrative messages related to account activity or changes - Messages related to account activity are generated as a result
of status changes regarding your account. These notifications can
include renewal notifications, security notices, change in the policies and/or operation of our
site and other notifications
related to your account. You cannot opt out of receiving
notifications related to account activity, however, if you
fail to renew your membership, no messages will be directed
to the email address associated with that account.
These notices are normally sent on an extremely infrequent basis.
- Notifications of new features and enhancements - Notifications of new features and enhancements are sent
as they become available for the set of services you are configured
to receive. You may opt out of these notifications by deselecting the
'Notify me of AmmoGuide news' in your account profile.
- As a direct result of the user's actions - Messages sent as a direct result of the user's actions (i.e.,
requesting a forgotten password via email) are always sent
regardless of the customer's profile settings.
You can access your account profile settings at any time from
your 'myAmmoGuide' screen, by clicking 'Edit myAmmoGuide profile' in the
'Your myAmmoGuide account at a glance' box at the top-right of the page.
